I was born a geek in the late 1950's. I have worked more than 30 years with information technology. Network security is my area of expertise.
In fall of 2007, I came home from work and my husband surprised me with a necklace. It was a simple necklace made of bone and horn, strung on leather cord. The minute I saw the necklace, I had a "movie moment". The necklace appeared to shine brighter than anything in the room and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. When my husband told me he had made the necklace for me, I was speechless.
I watched over the next few weeks as my husband made a more necklaces. It looked like so much fun. I wanted desperately to try it. Eventually I found myself at Hobby Lobby looking at the beads. I couldn't resist! I practically filled my basket. That was when my beading career (um.. actually hobby) began.
I love making jewelry. It is a passion, or an obsession. It is an amazing artistic release. I have never followed any patterns or guided instructions. Every necklace I make is entirely my personal design. I hope you love them as much as I do.
